This is an excellent text for basic listening practice with review of basic sentence patterns. The exercises are varied and the text full of illustrations to aid and test comprehension. The tape is clear and natural with both male and female voices. Instructions in the text are in English, Korean and Chinese, making it easy for the student to concentrate on listening for meaning. A booklet accompanying the text has the complete tapescript and also answers. This enables the student to study on his own. There are 25 short units and the authors suggest that one should be done each day. At the back of the book is a list of the grammatical patterns used in each unit and also a list of vocabulary for each unit.
